The Start of Mix U

Mix U was not called Mix U when it started. In 2017, Jordan scribbled on a notepad: Fashion 101. The idea was to create a fashion program that would teach people the fundamental values of how to be in the fashion industry as if he was standing on stage.

When he pitched it to a few people, their initial reaction was laughter. But true to his entrepreneurial roots, Jordan didn’t let that stop him. He knew that if he stuck with it, the program would be a success—and it was.

Now in its fourth year, Mix U has taught hundreds of people how to succeed in the fashion industry by utilizing strong core values and practicing creative problem solving underscored with a firm understanding of the basic fundamentals of running a fashion business.

This is the essence of what you’ll learn at Mix U: how to take decisive action in order to turn your ideas into reality. You are a future leader of fashion. Mix U will give you the tools you need to become the best leader you can be.

Gabrielle Edwards, President and Head Buyer

Gabrielle Edwards is the President and Head Buyer at Mixology Clothing Company. Gabrielle oversees all fashion and creative teams at Mixology and is instrumental in crafting the aesthetic at our company.

When she was 13 years old, her father gave her two options: play a sport or get a job. She chose the latter and began working for a local clothing boutique in her hometown, where she worked through college. In 2008, the recession hit, and Gabrielle introduced the owners to her father to convince him to invest in their boutique—but with a twist. That twist became the origins of Mixology, a boutique that mixed and matched price points.

Gabrielle was honored to receive the distinction of a Woman of Valor in 2023 by the Chabad of East Boca Raton, Fl. Gabrielle graduated from Northeastern University in 2012.

Rebecca Oestreicher Lendino, Vice President

Rebecca started her Mixology journey as a senior sales associate in 2015. She styled window displays and merchandised fixtures, developed and maintained clientele, ran social media accounts, and trained employees on customer service. Her drive and motivation led her to the role of Associate Buyer in 2020, and was then promoted to Director of Merchandising in 2021.

Rebecca led a vital role in driving the company's success in such a highly competitive industry that she was promoted to Vice President in 2022. In this position, she oversees the total company's operations.

Eugenia Curbelo Ackermann

Eugenia initially joined as a Sales Associate, immersing herself in the vibrant world of fashion. Driven by an insatiable desire to grow, she seized the opportunity to enroll in the fashion leadership course, at Mix University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing at St. Johns University, she caught the attention of the company and was extended an internship offer. She demonstrated dedication during the internship and paved the way for an exciting future. The company recognized her potential and rewarded her efforts by offering her a full-time position as a Social Media Coordinator and E-Commerce Assistant. She has now taken the third and fourth year of Mix University under her wing, elevating it into a highly efficient and accelerated program.
